There is not exactly a Glee death set however we have seen a lot of sad events on this popular show.
The Fox series that lasted from 2009 to 2015 lost one of its actors, Naya Rivera, while on a boat ride on a California lake. This is the third tragedy the ensemble has experienced. At 33, Rivera.
- Cory Monteith and Mark Salling, two more members of Rivera’s “Glee” ensemble, have recently passed away.
- Some have questioned whether there is a “Glee curse” in light of the loss of young actors. The day after the seventh anniversary of Monteith’s passing, Rivera’s body was found.
- His passing shocked Monteith’s loved ones, friends, and supporters.
- The much-loved actor who played Finn Hudson in the program about a high school glee club was mourned intensely.
- In a tribute episode titled “The Quarterback,” the fictional McKinley High School community, including Finn’s love interest Rachel Berry, who was portrayed by Monteith’s real-life girlfriend Lea Michele, struggled with the loss of the character. Throughout the show, Rachel, played by Michele, sobbed, “He was my person.”
- At the time, Michele told TV Week Australia, “I feel like I’ve lost two people: Cory and Finn. “Everyone wants to know, ‘Is this difficult?’ Is returning to work challenging? However, the reality is that life is no harder at work than it is at home, so we might as well stick together as a family and support one another through this.
- Two years after being charged with receiving and possessing child pornography, Salling, who had dated Rivera, committed suicide at the age of 35 five years later.
- When he passed away, he was about to be sentenced after entering a guilty plea to one count of possessing child pornography involving a prepubescent minor.
- Tim Davis, the vocal arranger for “Glee,” tweeted at the time about the tragedy.
- “Today we lost another #Glee cast member,” Davis posted. He harmed children. Yes. However, #MarkSalling was broken and likely abused. I miss Mark and his parents’ anguish. Don’t be cruel.”
Matthew Morrison, who played teacher Will Schuester on “Glee,” shared a photo of him, Monteith, and Salling in black suits and black ties in a casino.

How Passed Away Cory Monteith?
The body of Monteith was discovered in a hotel room in Canada on July 13, 2013. His cause of death was determined to be a heroin overdose, with traces of alcohol, codeine, and morphine also discovered in his bloodstream.

- The actor started abusing drugs when he was 13 years old. At the urging of his family and friends, he checked himself into rehab when he was 19 years old.
- He voluntarily returned to rehab in March 2013, just a few months before he passed away, following an intervention that was held on the Glee set. On April 26, he finished his therapy.
The coroner declared his overdose to be an accident when he passed away. A previously tolerable drug concentration level “may turn toxic and lethal” because Monteith had been drug-free for a few months. He was dating Lea Michele, a Glee actress, and was 31 years old when he passed away.
How Mark Salling Passed Away?
Salling committed suicide on January 30, 2018, following his admission of having child pornography in his hands.
- The actor was detained in 2015 after authorities discovered more than 50,000 child pornographic photographs on his computer and hard drive, according to a tip from an ex-girlfriend.
- Salling entered a guilty plea after his trial, and it was predicted that he would serve seven years in prison. A month before his sentencing hearing, he was discovered dead.
Naya Rivera’s Manner of Death
On July 8, 2020, Rivera vanished while swimming with her son at Lake Piru in California. Rivera was nowhere to be found when her son was discovered healthy and floating on a boat in the center of the lake. Her body was found on July 13 — the seventh anniversary of Monteith’s passing — after five days of searching. She was 33.
