- In October 2001, Jeremy Irons and Dennis Hopper were riding with Lauren Hutton on a charity ride to assist the Hermitage-Guggenheim Museum close to Las Vegas.
- She fell during the ride, breaking both of her arms and legs as well as three ribs and a lung in the process.
- She might not have felt the full extent of the anguish or noticed the bone poking out from her leg if she had been awake.
- Fortunately for her, and a good reason to ride with friends, Hopper and Irons pushed her to wear safety equipment including leathers and a full-face helmet that day.
